Boating & Watercraft Instruction
Boat Safety Clinic -

This clinic is designed for youth ages 12
to 17 who want to learn safe boating and personal watercraft (PWC) skills.
The instructor will discuss safe handling skills, new boating and watercraft
ordinances (rules and regulations) for
Prior
Lake, navigation
procedures and aids, safe boating and watercraft techniques and terminology,
and required operator permits/licenses.
The students will complete a DNR workbook that goes along with class instruction,
take a test and receive notification from the DNR on test results and licensing. Additionally,
students will see demonstrations of techniques and equipment used by the
Sheriff’s Department and the DNR
for water safety enforcement. Students should bring pencils to the class.
Lunch will be donated by Prior Lake Domino’s Pizza following the clinic.
Cosponsored with Prior Lake-Savage Community Education Services, Prior Lake
Association and the Sheriff’s Department. Cost $5.00
per student ($3.00 if registering online).
